It’s a colourful fall fairy wonderland out there! Our beautiful coastal rain forest is home to lush trees and amazing vegetation, like fungi.
Mushrooms play an amazing ecological role in our environment and this time of year you might find a fungi surprise at the base of our local trees. I expected to see a Cheshire Cat sitting on this toxic toad stool called Amanita Muscaria. I found these resting under a oak tree in east Vancouver… not wonderland! Fungi to look at but not to eat as these are toxic but play an import role in the ecosystem.
