Community Food Markets

The Community Food Market is now in the 9th year of the program.  It is a place for community building and connection, and increasing accesses to fresh, affordable, and sustainable produce.

photo (21)The Cedar Cottage Food Network hosts the Community Food Markets at different locations in the Kensington-Cedar Cottage neighbourhood.  The markets provide fresh fruits and vegetables to community members at wholesale cost or below. The produce is local and organic whenever possible; and produce comes from a wholesale distributor and throughout the summer we offer hyper local, organic vegetables grown on school grounds in Vancouver by Fresh Roots Urban Farm.

By running these markets, we work to reduce barriers to accessing fresh produce such as limited income, physical mobility, and lack of transportation.

We also work to create a welcoming community where we sample recipes, share stories, and chat about all things food.  Don’t forget to bring your home-grown tastiest in-season vegetables and fruits to trade with your neighbours!

If you would like more information about the markets, contact us at cedarcottagefoodnetwork@gmail.com.

These markets would not be possible without the generous support of the City of Vancouver, Vancouver Coastal Health.
