Seedy Saturday: Engaging Kids with Gardening July 16th

file-page1
Join the Cedar Cottage Food Network and the Vancouver Public Library for the fourth of our 2016 Seedy Saturday workshop series. Each event includes a workshop on a gardening topic and a seed swap.

This interactive workshop for parents/caregivers and children has two parts:

Firstly, join us for a garden-related Storytime at the Kensington branch of the Vancouver Public Library. At Storytime, parents and caregivers are supported in their roles as their children’s first and most important teachers and shown ways to share language with them. Lastly, participants will move across the street to join gardening instructor Frankie Filippelli for some fun activities at the Kingcrest Community Garden. These activities can be transferred to home gardens where the adults and their kids can continue learning together.

This workshop has very limited space so please pre-register. This workshop is for families with children ages 3-7 (no more than 2 children per family at this time).

This event is free but seating is limited so please pre-register online or in person at the library branch. Light refreshments will be available. The facility is wheelchair accessible.

See you there!
