Community Literacy Survey

A couple of years ago, the Kensington-Cedar Cottage Literacy Task Force was formed by representatives from several social service agencies in the neighbourhood. The Task Force published this great report on literacy in our community.

The definition of literacy has expanded over the years to include many types outside the generally recognized scope of reading and writing. Food literacy is one of those newer additions. For example, Decoda Literacy Solutions (which funds some of the work of the agencies in the Task Force) has helped the Cedar Cottage Food Network and the Vancouver Public Library put on our Seedy Saturday events and start our seed sharing library this year.

Now, the Task Force has a survey out for all Kensington-Cedar Cottage residents to complete. Which forms of literacy are most important to you? What sorts of educational opportunities would you like to see more of in the neighbourhood? Give your thoughts here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2F9ZKTQ. Share it with your friends too!
